Black Box Voting

BlackBoxVoting.org is a nonpartisan, nonprofit consumer protection group for elections, and right now they are conducting the largest Freedom of Information action in history, with one Freedom of Information request already launched last night and two more requests pending. These requests cost money to file - a lot of money. They need to raise $50,000 as quickly as possible to pay for records and state fees. The investigations are particularly important because, as pointed out on Electoral-Vote.com, the election outcome differed substantially from the exit polls, particularly in Ohio, where Diebold voting machines are widespread. (See also the articles "Global Monitors Find Faults", "U.S. Voters Report Computer Problems", "North Carolina Computer Loses More than 4,500 Votes", "Gambling Vote Glitch Mars Tally", and "Machine Error Gives Bush Extra Ohio Votes".) If you can't afford to donate money to BlackBoxVoting.org to help pay for the Freedom of Information requests, they are also accepting donations of time spent helping them.

This is just one important way you can continue making your voice heard and working to change the system. WE ARE NOT HELPLESS. Now, more than ever, there is work to be done and we can and should do it. That's what The November 3rd Movement needs to be all about.
